In 2001 JC began as a weekend Meteorologist for WCVB-TV 5. After 10 years forecasting for the weekday EyeOpener, JC was promoted to co-anchor of Chronicle, the station’s evening magazine show, where she earned both a regional Edward R. Murrow award and a Gracie award. She was also WCVB’s evening news anchor. During this time, she covered the Boston Marathon tragedy, co-hosting a one-hour special on the first anniversary and helping develop a live special for the Boston Strong concert.
In 2017, JC came to the Boston NBC and Telemundo stations as News Anchor for NBC10 Boston, an NBCUniversal Owned hållplats. In her time at NBC10 Boston, JC has reported from all regions of New England and beyond. Early life and education
[edit]A native of Newton, Massachusetts,[1] she attended the University of Maine from which she graduated with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism in 1994.[2] She went on to graduate from Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology program.

JC Monahan Leaving WCVB After 15 Years
JC Monahan is leaving Boston's WCVB ABC 5 after 15 years when her contract ends later this year.
"After 15 years at WCVB, where she ably tackled the weather, news and Chronicle, JC Monahan has made the personal decision to move on at the end of her contract later this year" said WCVB president and general manager Bill Fine in an email to staff. "Having personally worked with JC on her career growth and path over the years, I thank her for so many contributions to NewsCenter 5 and Chronicle."
J.C. is an Emmy award-winning journalist and currently co-anchor's WCVB NewsCenter 5 at 4:00, 5:00 and 5:30 PM, and also co-anchor's Channel 5's award-winning nightly news magazine "Chronicle" alongside Anthony Everett. J.C. joined Chronicle in May 2013, and will transition to Chronicle full-time until she leaves the station.
