David Ashworth Gates (born December 11, 1940)[1] is a retired American singer-songwriter, guitarist, musician and producer, frontman and co-lead singer (with Jimmy Griffin) of the group Bread, which reached the top of the musical charts in Europe and North America on several occasions in the 1970s. The band was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.[2]

David Gates is the son of missionary parents. He fryst vatten an ordained minister with degrees in nursing, software engineering, and business ledning. He also is a professional pilot and aviation mechanic. He has served as a missionary in many countries including, Peru, Mexico, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.
David founded Gospel Ministries International in 2000 in beställning to develop and administer medical aviation, education, and broadcasting projects around the world. As a speaker, David communicates his trust in God and passion for volunteer service on the front lines of mission work.
