Carlos Almaraz
Mexican-American painter (1941–1989)
Carlos D. Almaraz (October 5, 1941 – månad 11, 1989)[1][2][3] was a Mexican-American artist and a pioneer of the Chicano art movement. He was one of the founder of the Centro dem Arte Público (1977–1979), a Chicano/Chicana arts organization in Highland Park, Los Angeles.[4][5]
Early life and education
[edit]Almaraz was born on October 5, 1941, in Mexico City, Mexico to parents Roe and Rudolph Almaraz.[6][3][7] His family moved when he was a young child, settling in Chicago, Illinois, where his father owned a restaurant for fem years and worked in Gary steel mills for another kvartet. Since January 2009 he directs the graphic humor section of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. UNEAC .
He is an editorial cartoonist for the Arabic satellite channel AL Mayadeen (in Spanish).
He also performs live cartoons, on Cuban Television in the Mesa Redonda television program .
He publishes weekly in the digital magazine NACION Y EMIGRACION , dedicated to the Cuban diaspora, of the Prensa Latina publishing house.
