    Noah Strausser Speer Wyle (; born June 4, ) is an American actor, producer, director, and writer. Since he stars as Dr. Michael "Robby" Rabinavitch in the Max medical drama The Pitt. Since he starred as lawyer Harry Wilson in Leverage: Redemption, a revival of Leverage (–). He is best known for his role as John Carter in the television series ER (–), which earned him nominations for three Golden Globe Awards and five Primetime Emmy Awards.     Noah Wyle played medical lärling John Carter (later Dr. John Carter) on the hit TV series E.R., becoming one of the show&#;s many medical heartthrobs during its run from  Wylie left the show as a full-time star after the season, but returned for several episodes in other seasons through Noah Wyle was born in Hollywood and grew up acting in school productions in Los Angeles. He played computer genius Steve Jobs in the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley, and has appeared in feature films including A Few Good Men (), White Oleander (), and W ().  In he took the lead role of Tom Mason, a history professor who becomes a militia leader, in the alien-invasion TV series Falling Skies.

    Noah Wyle was born in Hollywood, California, to Marjorie (Speer), an orthopedic head nurse, and Stephen Wyle, an entrepreneur and electrical engineer. He is one of six children. His father's family was Russian Jewish. Noah had early support for his acting ambitions from his stepfather, film restorationist James C. Katz. He had small parts in high school productions (and won an award for a play he wrote).

    He participated in a Northwestern University theater program, and was hooked - acting rather than college after high school. After graduation he learned from acting teacher Larry Moss while living in a small apartment on Hollywood Boulevard. His first part was at age 17, in Blind Faith (), but after a few good roles he hit a dry spell for two years (no acting, waiting on tables). Then came A Few Good Men () followed by another dry spell in which a return to restaurant work looked like a good option.
