JhaverchandMeghani is a litterateur, Poet and Freedom Fighterfrom Gujarat. He was born in Chotila town in surendranagar, Gujarat. Mahatma Gandhi instinctively gave him the title of RaashtreeyaShaayar (National Poet).
ZaverchandMeghani’s parents are the Kalidas and DholimaMeghani. His father Kalidas worked in the Police force. His education was in Rajkot. He finished his matriculation in 1912 and completed his BA in 1917. He had two brothers Lalchand and Prabhashankar. He was married to Damyanti and after the death of his wife, he married to the woman named Chitradevi at the age of 36. He had 9 children namely Padmala, Murali, Indu, Mastan, Nanak, Vinod, Ashok, Mahendra and Jayant.
