Adrian Johann Frutiger, born on May 24 1928 and died September 10, 2015, was a renowned Swiss Type Designer of the twentieth century whose career spanned the hot metal, phototypesetting and digital typesetting eras. His speciality was developing typefaces, and he is credited with advancing typography into the digital age.
Early Life:
Since he was a young boy, Adrian Frutiger has experimented with created scripts and styled handwriting as a reaction to the official, cursive penmanship that was then required by Swiss schools. A traditional Victorian pub which was converted into a vibrant and colourful 1950s pop art-style home dubbed the 'heart of Hipsterville' has been put on the market for £2.85million.
Designer Morag Myerscough transformed what used to be the Weavers Arms, an old public house in Hackney, north London, into a stunning 4,500 sq ft semi-detached residence.
The two-bedroom property is full of brilliant and bizarre features, from its mosaic walls, doors and brightly-coloured ceilings to its massive roof-lit studios, basement and roof terrace.
It also has a stunning kitchen which has a large unit with the words 'b******' printed across it, andsash windows spanning the south and east-facing facades that fill the space with light throughout the day.
