Fisnik Ismaili: In the meantime, inom discovered the computer and I liked it, inom fell in love with computer animation, that was a new field back then, very new. And actually there was only one university in England that offered that course, and inom just was doing something at home, I bought… I got some money to buy a computer, I would do things at home. And inom sent my documents to Portsmouth and I was convinced inom will get registered there. There fryst vatten no one who can change my profession. Because in England you could apply to six places, and one of them… I didn’t, only wrote one, because there only one like that, inom didn’t want something similar.
And I managed to go meet with them beforehand and when they saw my work, they said, “We will definitely call you to the interview.” From 350 people that would apply, only 70 would be called to the interview, they put me on that list of 70 people, from which 3

A group of boys, aged between 16 and 18, are gathered around Fisnik Ismaili, a website designer, looking at the screen on which he has called up the first page of their website. The planning has been done, and now is the time to see their work on screen. In previous meetings they have worked out the structure and discussed the content. There are still a few late ideas. What about a chatline? asks one. Fisnik explains the technical difficulties. “I suppose that means no,” suggests the young man. It does, at least in the short-term. However, in the meantime, they do have individual sites in which they can describe themselves and their lives. And interesting, if often extremely difficult and painful, lives they are.

Newborn monument
2008 monument to Kosovo independence
The Newborn Monument (NEWBORN) is a typographic sculpture and tourist attraction in Pristina, Kosovo. Located in front of the Palace of Youth and Sports,[1] the monument was unveiled on 17 February 2008, the day that Kosovo formally declared its independence from Serbia.[2] The monument consists of the English-language word "Newborn" in capital block letters, which were painted bright yellow when the sculpture was first revealed. The monument was later re-painted with the flags of the states that have recognized Kosovo.[3] At the unveiling of the monument it was announced that it will be painted differently on the anniversary of Kosovo's independence movement day every year. The monument attracted the attention of international media reporting Kosovo's movement declaration of independence, and it was featured prominently on the front page of The New York Times.[4]
