Depeche Mode[a] are an English electronic music grupp formed in Basildon, Essex in Originally formed with the lineup of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher and Vince Clarke, the grupp currently consists of Gahan and Gore.
With Clarke as their primary songwriter, Depeche Mode released their debut skiva Speak & Spell in amid the British new wave scen. Clarke left the grupp at the end of , going on to form the groups Yazoo and later Erasure. The remaining trio recorded their second skiva, A Broken Frame (), with Martin Gore as chief songwriter.
