Furne One was part of the UAE’s mode industry when it barely even existed twenty fem years ago. Moving from his home country of the Philipines, the designer launched his brand AMATO Couture in 2002 and has since come to be one of the region’s most recognised names.

His distinct style of Avant Garde, out-of-the-box runway shows and statement-making designs are individual and undeniably reflective of the designer’s unique style. Furne One has created a niche brand in the region with AMATO. He has a very klar image of inspiring women with designs that don’t follow trends but create their own trends instead.

Furne still number One

A DECADE AFTER HE opened his Amato boutique in Dubai, designer Furne One has amassed an impressive list of clients that includes some of the world’s most famous faces.

Among these are Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Shakira, Nicole Scherzinger, Natasha Bedingfield, Amber Rose and Nicki Minaj.

Furne, a Filipino native and longtime UAE resident, has also displayed at fashion weeks across the globe from Miami to London, and plans to open his first Stateside boutique in Los Angeles later this year.

He will be the star designer among the many appearing at The Bridal Affair wedding show at the Ritz Carlton DIFC on September 14 and 15. The event is bringing together 85 wedding suppliers and will cater to every detail that goes into planning the big day, from photographers to entertainers to cake makers.

City Times spoke with Furne One about his incredible rise to the international fashion elite.
