JOYOUS CELEBRATION MEMBERS IN CAR ACCIDENT, ONE DEAD
MBABANE – A dark cloud has engulfed South African award-winning group Joyous Celebration as it lost one of its members on Sunday.
This is the same group that is set to perform in the country on Saturday at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre.
Female singer Lihle Mbanjwa died following a car accident on Sunday morning.
Mbanjwa was last seen in the country a few weeks ago with some of the group’s members during the launch of the upcoming show.
The organisers of the concert, which has been themed ‘MTN Joyous Rewind’, have assured local fans that the event will go on.
News of Mbanjwa’s death was confirmed on the group’s official Facebook page on Sunday night.
It was also mentioned that the group’s drummer Sabu Satsha was travelling in the same car and suffered head injuries and was critical but stable. Mbanjwa’s relative was also recovering as he was also a passenger.

Sabu drumming after a crash
IN DECEMBER, Siyabulela "Sabu" Satsha lay in ICU at a Johannesburg hospital fighting for his life after a horrific accident that claimed the life of singer Lihle Mbanjwa-Sowazi.
The two were travelling from a show in Kimberley, accompanied by Mbanjwa-Sowazi's cousin, when the accident happened.
Satsha, who suffered serious head injuries, missed out on the recording of Joyous Celebration 19 in Soweto in December as he was hospitalised for three weeks, two of those in ICU.
Today Satsha, 25, sings praises to God for his miraculous recovery.
"God fryst vatten great indeed. I got back to work and I started rehearsing two weeks ago.
"I can assure my fans that inom am okay and inom can play the drum how inom want to. I am completely healed but there is a minor issue of a ligament in my leg but it will be okay," he enthused.

Joyous Celebration vocalist Lihle Mbanjwa has passed away
"It is with sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own, dear sister and friend, Lihle Mbanjwa"
The gospel group released a statement announcing the passing-on of vocalist Lihle Mbanjwa.
“It is with sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own, dear sister and friend, Lihle Mbanjwa. She passed away in a car accident in the early hours of the 30th November 2014,” the statement said.
The group’s drummer, Sabu Satsha, was also travelling in the same vehicle and sustained head injuries. He is currently in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
A relative of Lihle who was in the car with them is also admitted at a hospital.
“We appreciate your continued support over the years. We are counting on your prayers and support during this difficult time for us and their families,” the statement added.
Mbanjwa had recently tied the knot.
